CLAN CASTLE TROOPS: KILLING/LURING
Luring Clan Castle troops can be a very effective offensive tactic,
however the caveat must be added..... it is very effective when used...CORRECTLY!! ...Timing, placement, and movement are keys.
A) This could be a good way to remove the war base clan castle troops
that could cuase some damage, it doesn't go without saying that:
1. This has to be done right in order for it to work
2. If this isn't done right, you lose troops and risk a higher chance of losing the battle.
3. Clan War IS NOT the place to test this tactic. If someone isn't
versed in proper luring, experienced in drawing out the troops, ASK the more experienced clan members for advice first. BEFORE risking a loss due to improper use of troops to lure.
B) Almost everybody does not realize that when you use troops
that have no favorite target and they become aware of defending clan castle troops, your troops will target the clan castle troops first,
disregarding any buildings that are around them.
Secondly, any of your
troops that are under attack by Clan Castle troops, your near by troops
will come to the rescue to deal with those defending clan castle troops,
even if it means breaking through walls.
DEFENSIVE STRATEGY:
The use of your own Clan Castle should involve placement in the center
of your base. This allows the troops a maximum range across the entire
base, not in just a small area. Also, if your base is spread out
enough, it will prevent luring of your own Clan Castle troops.
Requesting troops that target both air and ground troops is the best
advice I can give. Troops are deployed in Tier order, however if you
have Barbs and Archers and your attacked by Minions, the Barbs will not
be deployed, only the Archers, since the Barbs can not defend against
Minions.
OFFENSIVE STRATEGY
A quick overview, and the simplest way to explain proper luring
techniques would be to use a single troop to lure the clan castle troops
out, and away from the bases defenses.
This may take 2 or 3 single troop drops to lure them far enough away. Once the troops are our and far enough away from the bases defenses, Drop a lightening spell or surround the troops with many (not a few) of your own troops (Barbs, Wizzies, Archers, Dragon) to take them out quickly.
Your key to succeed is destroy the troops quickly! Don't mess around with trying to use 5 or 6 archers at a time to kill their group of 20 Clan Castle troops , it ends up wasting not only time but your own troops. Based on their Town Hall, you'll know the number of troops contained in that clan castle. Plan ahead to use enough troops to kill them fast.

Avoiding their defensive buildings is another point to remember.
There's nothing more humiliating than losing a battle because you had
to spend half your army and time taking out 20 of their clan castle
troops while also taking damage from their cannons, mortars, and archer
towers. Do not, I repeat do not do a luring battle within range of their defenses.
Surround those troops from all directions when battling them,
don't deploy your troops from a single location, reason being, if they
have a Clan Castle full of Wizards or a Dragon, the splash damage from
those 2 Clan Castle troops alone will kill you off faster than you may
be able to deploy your own troops.
The key is to execute it correctly, quickly, without burning a lot of
valuable time off the battle clock.
The Archer Hoard
Starting with a single archer, attacker gets the troops out of the CC, in the second pic, player drops another archer further out as the first archer is killed.
In this pic you see the archers have come out, they are well outside the defensive buildings range, and attacker begins to surround the CC troops.
Based on the expending lines above the wizard and archers in the center (the CC troops), attackers surrounding archers are doing damage to multiple troops at one time, where as the few CC troops still standing are doing less damage to the hoard. This is where strength in numbers comes into some serious play. It's vital to overpower and overcome the CC troops so that they are dealt with quickly. Don't waste time and troops sending a few troops in at a time to deal with CC troops.
In this last pic, you can see the CC troops are gone, and the archer hoard will head to the nearest buildings and begin destruction of the base. Once you have the cc under control, do not waste time proceed with your core attack while your archers are finishing, time is against the attacker.
Using the Dragons and Wizards splash damage is a great way to deal with clan castle troops even faster, as seen in the below pics
Luring clan castle troops is an art This one was an easier one since the clan castle already outside of any defensive buildings range of fire.
Those are the basics to lure/kill success. It has it's place in Raids
and Clan Wars alike, but beware it is dependent an many different variables as
to when to use it and when not to use it. To many variables to mention
here, but one noticeable constant variable is where the defensive CC is
placed and if you can even get within it's range to do a lure
technique.
Common Mistakes
1) Not using enough troops to kill opponents is the most common mistake. For a better lack of a term, it gives the
appearance of great selfishness, in holding back, thinking that they
will hold on to troops and deploy more either as needed or after the CC
troops are gone. I hear it all the time, "the CC troops will kill mine
to fast!". This is FALSE. Yes, one dragon can
wreak havoc on a hoard of archers due to splash damage, but that same
damage will occur whether you lure him out or not. Your troops, as
noted above, will redirect their attention to any defensive clan castle
troops. The damage you incur is the same whether you lure or not, the
killing factor for your offensive troops is because it is done within
range of the defensive structures, NOT extra damage from the CC troops.
So don't be deceived by the FALSE STATEMENT that the CC troops will kill you
faster, their damage is the same.
2) Don't use your CC troops to kill their CC troops. Reason being,
it you have archers and barbs, and they have wizards, the splash damage
from the wizards will kill your barbs and archers as fast as they can
come out of the building, as yours come out 1 by 1.
3)Don't use your Hero King to kill CC troops. Although Hero Kings are very
strong indeed, but they have very slow attack speeds, and won't attack
fast enough to keep from taking to much damage on themselves. Not to
mention your Hero's target one troop at a time, where the defensive CC
troops have only one target, your Hero. They will deal maximum damage
fast to your Hero King.
4)Don't underestimate what may be in that CC building, just because
you lure troops out with a single troop, that CC may not be empty.
Troops exit the CC in rank order, Barbs first, Archers second, and so
forth, yet, they also only deploy against targets they can defend
against. If you lure with minions, you'll only get Archers and Wizards
out of that CC, but when you get closer, the massive hoard of
Barbarians exits the CC and destroys your attempt, ruining your day in
battle. Make sure your aware of how many troops should be in that CC
and plan accordingly.
